Many people who are extra crazy for this event wake up early in the morning (4:30 am). Many people save their money for this event. Others go shopping for Christmas gifts on this day. Why is it called Black Friday? Many of us are used the term, Black Friday. Many though, do not know what it means. From www.thebalance.com it says, “It was originally called Black Friday because so many people went out to shop that it caused traffic accidents and sometimes even violence. The Philadelphia Police Department coined the phrase to describe the mayhem surrounding the congestion of pedestrian and auto traffic in the downtown area.” As read, Black Friday is very popular. Popular enough for traffic accidents and violence. Black Friday has become so crazy, that people are becoming too violent. Www.thebalance.com also said, “It was originally called Black Friday because so many people went out to shop that it caused traffic accidents and sometimes even violence. Black Friday started near 1969, but how did it start? Www.history.com says, “The first recorded use of the term “Black Friday” was applied not to holiday shopping but to financial crisis: specifically, the crash of the U.S. gold market on September 24, 1869.” Black Friday was not always a fun holiday, this event eventually evolved into, Black Friday.
